|I will offer infants a morning nap, generally between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and noon, or as needed. All children will be offered an afternoon nap shortly after lunch, generally between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. I will provide a safe, warm, quiet place for your child(ren) to rest. Parents are required to provide a sleeping bag and small pillow, labeled with child's name to be left at the daycare. If your child has a favorite blanket or other comfort object, you are certainly welcome to bring these. These will be laundered and/or disinfected weekly and whenever soiled.
All children will be expected to sleep or rest quietly during this time, so that the children who need to sleep can do so. Nap times will begin with soft music to encourage children to fall asleep. Children who do not fall asleep or awaken early will be guided to quiet activities that will not disturb other sleeping children. Infants will be allowed to follow their own patterns of sleeping and waking.
Please do not request that your child be exempt from nap-time. In a group care situation, this would not be in your child's best interest. If at any time your child is not sleeping at night, or he/she doesn't seem ready to go to bed and you feel it is because he/she sleeps too long here, don't hesitate to mention it to me and I can try waking him/her up a little earlier each day.
Also, please refrain from dropping off or picking up your child during the scheduled nap times as this potentially disrupts the entire group. I will attempt to accomodate occasional deviations from this policy, such as for emergencies and other necessary events.
|SCHOOL AGE CARE|
|After a long day at school, children need some time to just "chill out". D' Andrea's Friends -N- Play Daycare provides a an exciting, fun place for children before school, after school and during holidays and summer break. Children will have a variety of activities from which to choose, from having a snack, watching a movie, working on computers, completing homework, creating an arts or crafts project or just hanging out with friends. I will provide an environment that allows order and structure while at the same time allowing the children to have fun and to choose their activities.|
|Each day upon arriving, you are required to sign your child(ren) in. Please note the time arrived and your complete signature where indicated on the "Sign In/Out" sheet. The same procedure is to be used when you pick your child(ren) up. The "Sign In/Out" sheet, pen and clock will be located on the sofa table in the dining room.
